Note Taking

Aloha! I'm going to write about my experience in my class. I'm taking ELI, economics, social science, and Hawaiian studies classes. As you all do, I have to take note in the classes. I usually write down key words and lines on notebook and use many pages in a class. However, when saw some students note during class one day, They were writing sentences on their note or laptop and it spent a short space. I wondered how I could take notes with sentences. I have never done like that even in Japanese. In the last listening class, we leaned about the ways to take a note finally. I found the writing sentences as one way and the homework was taking note with one way of them.  So I decided to do the sentence way. In Hawaiian studies class, I tried to take notes with sentences. At first, I could do it but soon, I couldn't follow the class. I concentrated to writing what the professor said and became unable to listen well. North Shore!!

I went to North Shore with my roommate on Sunday. We visited Haleiwa town (Matsumoto's shave ice!!), Sunset beach, and Banzai pipeline. They were so beautiful and we took a lot of pictures of the ocean. It took about 2 hours from our dorm because we went by bus. However, I'm so satisfied with the trip! I'll go again sometime soon though! We had lunch at vegan restaurant, the beet box cafe. This was my first time to visit vegan cafe. I've never seen vegan before. I think Japanese can't be vegan because lots of Japanese dishes need fish, meet, egg, and many other food from animal. For example, sushi needs raw fish, and dashi which is required for almost Japanese cuisine like udon is from bonitos. So Vegan is a kind of culture shock for me. At the restaurant, I ordered "BEIRUT BURGER." It used "falafel" which is a deep fried patty made from ground chickpeas, fava beans, or both (from wikipedia:p). The burger was so tasty! ...
